Who we are
The LORD is a research laboratory at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey that focuses on biomedical innovation to develop novel, integrative solutions for ophthalmic disease treatment. Our multi-faceted approach to research and development is curated by wet-lab and live mammalian model testing, diverse academic and research backgrounds, and integrative clinical diagnostic techniques.
The biomaterials lab facilitates our focused development of ocular drug delivery systems, including hydrogels, microneedles, and nanoparticles. Revolutionizing biomaterials and leveraging their unique material properties offers novel options for a comfortable and effective treatment experience.
Our animal experiment lab is equipped to perform a wide range of procedures and experiments, including various retinal imaging modalities, animal surgery, and an isolated procedure room for electroretinogram (ERG) capture. In incorporating small animal models into our work, we can image, treat, and track the progression of various degenerative posterior segment ocular diseases.
